Total Loss: 31.8 pounds in 21 weeks

I *so* needed that number after the past three weeks, two being gains and one being the pitiful loss. I bumped up the exercise a bit this week, didn’t drink any alcohol, and didn’t do *as* bad on the weekend so I feel proud and that I earned it! I’m so happy to be approaching 200 again!!

Quick look at the week: My water was GREAT as it was our weekly challenge on the Biggest Loser game we’re doing on caloriecount.com. I exercised 4 out of 7 days. I was aiming for 5, but lazy happens and we all know I loathe exercise. Calories were good most days. I hit around 1600-1700 most days, except yesterday had an abnormal 1310. Fri-Sun who knows…especially Sunday. It’s hard to count when you snack all motha freakin’ day.

And now…my Perfect Ten update (Week 4!):

-Walk/Jog 100 miles (by the end of the challenge)–I walked ten (!!!) miles this week for a total of 27 towards my goal of 100. Something tells me I should be closer to 50 since we’re almost halfway through this challenge. Ruh-roh. OH…I almost forgot I did some jogging too, but nothing to blog about really. I just hate it! At least, the breathing part.

-Do strength training/toning exercises three times a week (via DVD’s and the Wii Biggest Loser game)–I only did this once this week, again. I’m just not that into you.

-Complete 3 sections of my big writing project–Not as good as last week. I got about two pages done…which for me, in a week, is sucky. I blame Under The Dome for most of this, as well as scrapbooking…which I got SIX pages done of over the weekend. I think I have way too many hobbies.

-Lose ten pounds–I lost 2.3 this week, which FINALLY takes me out of the red. So if my math is correct, I’ve “lost” 1.1 pounds since January 1. Wow when you put it on paper like that it sounds kinda bad! At least the ship is finally moving towards the goal instead of the bottom of the ocean!

-Set at least one goal for the day, no matter how small, and reach it, everyday. –Booyah! Still the best idea ever…did it all week, loving it!

-Drink at least 80 ounces of water each day–I completed this five days. Damn weekends. I just do NOT consume as much water on Saturday and Sundays as I do at work!

EDIT: I always forget something new/unique about myself. Back in 2000, for about six months, I got to work backstage at a weekly wrestling show that was broadcast all over the area (3 states!)…I gave the referee time cues in his earpiece and also helped produce backstage segments. Not a huge assignment, but I was in heaven. So interesting and one of the best periods of my life!

Alright. So next week at this time I’m hoping to have written more, read more of Under the Dome (I’m about to hit page 500!), and lost a pound or so. I just wanna keep the momentum going. Going on vacation in the middle of March and I would love to look slimmer in the pictures! I am also gonna try to keep the mileage up, the water up, no drinking this weekend, and hopefully no baking. What is it with me and baking on the weekends? Put down the cookie sheet man!

I really think I would exercise (at least) a little more if I could put this book down! It’s so good! I’m around page 400 and loving it.  If it starts to suck I’ll warn everyone, but so far I’m looooooovvvvvvvvvvvin it!

Stephen King: Under The Dome

Hope everyone had a good weekend! I did. It was quiet and low key, unlike last Sunday’s day of feasting and the shopping spree! I ate okay over the weekend, well Sunday had a few rough spots, but nothing like last week.  Didn’t exercise any, but worked on my hobbies a lot for my mental health 🙂
I’m back on track today with water, exercise, and calorie counting.

On a sidenote…please keep my sweet dog Phoebe in your thoughts and prayers, if you have room…she has serious back problems as most weenie dogs do. She’s mostly my mom’s dog, even though I brought her home. Since I moved out in 2004 mom took her over and now they are like BFF’s. Anyway the doctor is wanting to do surgery and it’s not looking good–like, her back paws are giving out and starting to fail her. It’s so sad because she’s such a sweetie. Here’s a pic in case you don’t believe me:

Yes, we dress them up sometimes. Don't judge!

I guess that’s about it…it’s Monday night so that means wrestling night! Time to unwind after a long day at work.  Good luck to everyone that’s weighing in tomorrow! (or tonight…or Wed…or Thu…or even Fri!) 🙂

2nd post of the day!

Here’s my Perfect Ten challenge update for week 3!

-Walk/Jog 100 miles (by the end of the challenge)–I walked nine miles this week for a total of 17 towards my goal of 100. My proud moment was 5 mins of nonstop jogging on Tuesday.

-Do strength training/toning exercises three times a week (via DVD’s and the Wii Biggest Loser game)–I only did this once this week yet again.

-Complete 3 sections of my big writing project–I’m VERY happy to report that I finished my catch-up/brainstorming sessions this week AND I’ve started back writing! I did four or five pages last night and one so far today!

-Lose ten pounds–I lost 0.7 this week, but I’m still trying to undo the 1.8 or so I gained over the last two weeks. I was really hoping for a better number.

-Set at least one goal for the day, no matter how small, and reach it, everyday. –Did this everyday…what a useful tool in daily life. I love this still.

-Drink at least 80 ounces of water each day–I did this five days. The other two days I only drank around 40 oz or so.

And finally, something unique about myself for this week: Any fans of the TV show “Big Brother?”  If you aren’t, you won’t care about this…and if you are, well you still might not care, lol. But I once met and had lunch with Nicole from season two…in Atlanta! It took a lot of stalking online and being extra friendly, but it worked out and was an awesome afternoon. We are still friends on Facebook now and I have a picture framed in my hallway of that meeting. And a mini-fact…if you can’t tell–I am a SUPER FAN of Big Brother. I watch both the US and UK versions 🙂

Week 20 (1/21/10) 205.3 (-0.6)

Total Loss: 29.5 pounds in 20 weeks

Any loss is a good loss, blah blah blah. I have to be honest and say I’m a little bit disappointed after seeing lots of my blog friends lose around four pounds each this week. I think it got my hopes up a little bit. That combined with the fact it was my first week back on track “hardcore style” but the scale only gave me 0.6.  So I’m still working off that 1.8 I gained over a two week period.  No biggie, it will come off, but I’m sure you all can sympathize with the ole “scale disappointment” feeling 🙂

As far as how I did this week–I counted calories 5 out of 7 days. Sunday was heaven sent…a day in Memphis shopping and eating with no calorie counting in mind and it was one of the best days I’ve had in forever…and that night was great too…so if anything is to blame for this week’s results it’s that! Lots of indulging on fun stuff which I needed for my mental health!  Monday was a holiday (bonus day off, yesss!) I didn’t count, but I also know I was within limits as I was counting mentally.  Water was really great this week. I exercised 4 out of 7 days which is good, but not great. On the days I counted calories I averaged around 1750. Of course, even though I do count calories, a lot of the times the final number is an estimate because when I cook my supper at night I often have to estimate as best as possible.

I plan on posting my Perfect 10 later on, but I’ve done good with it this week, too.  I guess that’s all I got…here’s hoping for a better number next week! Hope everyone is doing well.

Haven’t posted an update pic in a while…this is my 4 months progress pic (Start 9-1-09; update 1-1-10).
I’m loving this learning how to edit pics and stuff!

Ok, I promise no more posts for the night (Unless I find another Kardashian lookalike or something!)

…is it just me, or does the mother from The Kardashians show look JUST LIKE Janet from Three’s Company?

OMGBECKY, I TOTALLY learned how to add pictures to a post today…the correct way! I’m feeling all smart right now! 🙂

Total Loss: 28.9 pounds in 19 weeks

It sucks to see my “Total Loss” number keep going down, but I’m so not surprised with this weigh-in. I haven’t been fully committed so I had this coming. I’m just glad it was “only” .2 that I gained.  But, I’m more on track now than I have been. I’ve exercised three times this week and my water intake is back up. I’m twittering my foods again to track them, and all the “bad junk food” from Christmas break is finally gone. Why didn’t I just throw it away? Hopefully there will be clear skies from here on!

And now…I wanna try something new. Week 19: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly:

The Good: I didn’t drink alcohol this week (making it two straight weeks!)
The Bad: I had an urge to try a new recipe, so I made some DELICIOUS Peanut Butter Bars–tasted awesome, but very fattening. I gave half of them away, and was gonna take the other half to work, allowing myself two as a treat.
The Ugly: I took my coworkers none and ate the other half myself. I wasn’t feeling well (back pains) over the weekend and missed work Monday and half of Tuesday so needless to say, this mouse nibbled away here and there until they were all gone. I have no real excuse…dang they were good.

The Good: I exercised three days this week (Sunday/Tuesday/Wednesday)
The Bad: I had planned on exercising 5 days of the 7.
The Ugly: My back pain…ugh. It hurts like a sonofabeeech, but I think it’s gotten better since Monday!

The Good: I walked 6 miles this week.
The Bad: I had planned on walking 10 miles this week.
The Ugly: I still have 92 miles to walk in The Perfect 10 challenge, and 492 miles to walk by 12/31/10.  Ugh! Someone make me love exercise. Please?

The Good: I was able to add jogging intervals into my walks, and Wed night was alternating jogging sessions in either 60-90 second sessions, when I could.
The Bad: I wasn’t able to jog as much as I want to in my head.
The Ugly: The image of me sweating and gasping for air after trying to jog.

Ok I thought I had more clever ideas for Good/Bad/Ugly but I’m drawing a blank. Doing this post at work really makes it hard to concentrate.

Quick Perfect 10 Update:
-Walk/Jog 100 miles (by the end of the challenge)–I added six miles to my list, which is a big improvement from last week’s whopping TWO miles. I’m definitely back on the exercise track!-Do strength training/toning exercises three times a week (via DVD’s and the Wii Biggest Loser game)–I only did this once this week.

-Complete 3 sections of my big writing project–Did  a little more planning and brainstorming, but no writing this week. If I could stop READING some maybe I could get stuff done!

-Lose ten pounds–Awwwkwarrrrrd!  (Ummm, no.)

-Set at least one goal for the day, no matter how small, and reach it, everyday. —Completed EVERYDAY! I love this. I make a small goal, sometimes more than one, and it makes me get stuff done!

-Drink at least 80 ounces of water each day–I did this about four days. When I’m home I don’t do good on water for some reason.

(EDIT)–Something unique about myself is that I love to scrapbook. I know it’s a rare hobby for guys, but I love it. Most “scrappers” are women that scrap about their family and children…but I like to scrap about my friends, parties, places I go like concerts, and vacations. It’s as artsy as I get, getting to design each page and preserve memories forever. I’m huge into pictures and take way too many and this is one of my favorite hobbies!

Well, another week has come and gone. I realize my exercise was lackluster and I did gain weight, but is it weird that I’m okay with these results? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not HAPPY, but last week when I did my post I was like “yeah, I gained…oh well”, but this week I feel like I’m more back into the program and a ton more focused. I can do this! I have 1.8 pounds of extra baggage to shed before I get back down to my happy weight of two weeks ago. My weekend goals are to remember as much as I love to cook, I am NOT Betty Crocker, so no baking cookies, brownies, etc when I get bored. Also, to hopefully not have alcohol. We’ll see.  Hope everyone is doing well!

How you duh-hin?  🙂

My good blogger/facebook friend Erin tagged me in her post “10 things that make me happy.”  Here’s my list. Some are silly…and yay to me for not listing Cherry Vodka or my famous chocolate chip cookies on the list (even tho they make me most happiest–off the record, of course!)  Why can’t they be calorie free?

Anyway…

Ten Things That Make Craig Happy:

1.  Scrapbooking–I love looking through old memories and designing pages to make the memories last forever. It’s so fun reliving good times, especially here lately when life has been so stressful due to the uncertainty of my job, how much I dislike said job, and being low on money in general. When I’m feeling down I can always pull out an album and remember good times, friends that have moved on in life, etc. It never ceases to amaze me how a photo can capture a fun memory and display it forever.

2.  Diet Snacks–From string cheese, to granwiches, to the INCREDIBLENESS that is “Diet Coke Cake”, I’m so thankful for these lower calorie options. Without them, I could never, ever make this lifestyle change…because I don’t like fruit (yes, it’s true) and I only eat like 3 vegetables.

3. My Ipod–I love it when I’m exercising…but it’s there for me all throughout my day: at work (UGH!), while I cook and clean, when I drive…it’s probably my most used possession!

4. My laptop–My second most used item (and some days, THE most used item…) it helps pass the time and also helps with my other hobbies. With it, I can communicate with you all, enjoy Facebook, SHOP, read, everything. I love it. Now if only my wireless card still worked!

5. My dog Sookie–Well, most of the time. I know she’s not a “thing” but I’m using her anyway. She’s about 9 months old now, so she’s usually on good behavior, so I guess I’ll put her on the list. I love how excited she is to see me when I get home (the feeling is mutual!)

6. Super Mario Brothers for Wii–again, most of the time! It’s such a tough game, but when I finally beat a world on there it’s as if I just ran a 5K  (as if…I wish I could!)

7. Clean Kitchen–I LOVE that feeling when you glance back at your kitchen and see the drainer full of clean dishes, the oven clean, all the stuff put away, and the sink shining. I’m OCD too, Erin!

8. Writing–My dream job would be to be a writer. I love working on short stories and the project I’m hoping to finally finish up this year. I do most of my thinking/brain storming in the shower. Is that weird? It’s like the steam from the hot water makes my mind so clear.

9. The “after exercise” feeling–I hate it, I hate it, I hate it…while it’s going on. Nothing can take my mind off the hate…fully…not a great movie, tv show, or song…but damn it feels good when you finish working out and, even when sore, you remember what you just did.

10. Cherry Coke Zero–Mmmmm. Now that’s some good shit!

I’m gonna tag everyone that reads this. For two reasons: One, I’m too lazy to go back to my homepage and retype everyone’s name from my link sections, and Two, I’m hoping any lurkers will comment so I can follow you too! You don’t have to do a long detailed list, just reply to my post with your ten things and I’ll be happy 🙂

This should be a short one…not much to say! This is my weekly update on Steve’s Perfect Ten Challenge

My goals…and how I’m progressing:

Walk/Jog 100 miles (by the end of the challenge)–only did 2 this week so far. 98 more to go. Yikes!  Really. Only 2? Really?

-Do strength training/toning exercises three times a week (via DVD’s and the Wii Biggest Loser game)–Did it once, fail!

-Complete 3 sections of my big writing project–70% fail. Why only 70? Because I spent a good amount of time brainstorming and reading over what I had completed last year to prepare to continue. What I’m writing is really involved and lots of details so I have to have it all fresh in my mind to continue. I accomplished most of what I wanted to in regards to this goal, but as far as words on the screen and saved-not so much. In fact, I still have some stuff to finish up rereading to get back into the writing frame of mind!

-Lose ten pounds–FAIL. I gained like 1.7…but we’ve already moaned about that on my previous post!

-Set at least one goal for the day, no matter how small, and reach it, everyday.–This I did great on, and I LOVE this. I’ve gotten some “little” nagging things done. However, I did my Sunday goal on Monday, so two goals in one day, b/c I never left the house Sunday 🙂  I will definitely continue doing this! I’ve really been using this goal setting thing at my job in an attempt to get caught up on work so I can work on the writing thing on my breaks!

-Drink at least 80 ounces of water each day–I believe I did this on 5 days out of 7. Not bad…I don’t do as good on water when I’m at home. Weird.

And, as far as my one “unique” thing to post about myself for the week: I’m one of the biggest pro wrestling fans you’ll meet. I’ve been obsessed with it since I was about 5 years old and I read about it all day, watch every show that comes on every week, collect the DVD’s, etc etc etc. No, I don’t think it’s real (in fact, what happens backstage is a million percent more interesting than what happens on the show.)  Anyway, yeah I’m really into it. In fact, I can usually tell you spot for spot what’s gonna happen in a match as it’s going on I’ve seen so many!

There ya have it. For what it’s worth, I didn’t JUST lay on the couch all week! I read a whole book, so that went towards my NYResolutions goal…and survived the “winter storm” we had here…which, to me, ended up being no biggie really.

In closing, I’m not really happy with my performance in this week’s Perfect 10, especially on the exercise/weight portions…so I will definitely have a better report next week I’m hoping.

I hope everyone’s first week of 2010 was a good one!

I knew this was coming, so I’m not surprised at all.

Total Loss: 29.1 pounds in 18 weeks

Dang, and it felt so good to do that 30 pound Happy Dance last week! Oh well, I’m sad to have gained, but totally expected it. Someone had a little too happy a New Year! I’m glad that the holidays are over and I’m (mostly) back on track. I’d be lying if I said I was totally back to normal, but for the most part I am.

I’m still in the biggest FUNK of all time (99% job related…) I feel like that depression medicine commercial. “Where does depression hurt?”  I should star in it.

Anyway, enough whining…I just wanted to check in and show my Scarlet 1.6 I am wearing on my chest for the week. Hopefully it’ll be gone next Thursday. We got a little snow here today and everyone is freaking out, it’s amazing. I’m like wow.
